Alamo Empire Mission Statement

The Corporation is a volunteer 501(c)3 organization dedicated to bettering the Community through outreach, education and raising funds one dollar ($1) at a time.  The corporation’s primary focus is to aid non-profit agencies that assist those living with medical and/or quality of life issues affecting citizens of Bexar County and the surrounding counties as a whole.

About the Alamo Empire

 

The Royal, Sovereign and Imperial Court of the Alamo Empire, Inc. was founded in 1990 by a group of hard working individuals that wanted to combine the fun and freedom of a social group with a serious drive of raising funds for the San Antonio Community. The Alamo Empire, Inc. is associated with the United Courts of Texas, which is comprised of Courts in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, and San Antonio.

 

The United Courts of Texas are a proud part of the International Court System (ICS). The ICS was founded in 1965 by Empress I Jose Sarria the Widow Norton in San Francisco, CA. The ICS is composed of all the Individual Courts in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

 

What is the purpose of the Court?

To raise funds for the San Antonio Community while providing fun and entertaining events and shows for the community.

 

Who is in charge?

The Court is governed by the dues paying members of the organization which includes the Board of Directors and the Reigning Monarchs. The Board of Directors oversees all business activities and financial matters of the organization. The Reigning Monarchs are the public leaders of the organization and oversee all fundraising activities during their Reign Year.

 

How will funds be raised?

The Court will sponsor a variety of fundraising events, including theme shows, group gatherings, dinner parties, just to name a few.

 

Where does the funds raised go?

The Reigning Monarchs designates the recipients of the funds raised by the activities of the Court.

 

The Monarchs

The Monarchs are selected by a general election each year. All voters must be at least 18 years of age with valid identification and reside in the boundaries of the Alamo Empire Realm. The Candidates that win the election will be announced and crowned at our annual Fundraiser called Coronation.

 

What is Coronation?

Coronation is the annual fundraiser gala that benefits the designated charities for the current Reign. Coronation is also a celebration of the end of one Reign and the start of a new Reign.

 

How do I join?

You may join by completing a membership application that is available on this website under the members tab. You can also obtain an application at one of our monthly membership meeting. Membership dues are subject to change from Reign to Reign. Please contact a member of Board of Directors for current dues.

 

If I join, what is expected of me?

Every member contributes in whatever way he or she chooses. It is your decision as to how you would like to participate and how much time you have to devote to the Court. If you decide to join the Court, you have already contributed to our success.

 

What privileges do I have as a member?

Membership in the Court entitles you to voting rights as outlined in our By-Laws and the Policies and Procedures Manual. Members participate in the election of the Board of Directors. You will also have the right to vote on any motions that are made at our general membership meetings. The Royal, Sovereign and Imperial Court of the Alamo Empire, Inc. has an outstanding record of community service and financial contributions to the San Antonio Community. The Court has risen in excess of $655,000.00 since its inception.

 

The Court has risen funds for agencies such as: B.E.A.T. AIDS, Hope Action Care, MCC Church, Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation, Pink Ribbon Project, Alamo AIDS Resource Foundation, Make a Wish Foundation, San Antonio AIDS Foundation, Women’s AIDS Task Force Foundation, American Veteran’s for Equal Right, We Are Alive, Stand Up For Kids, Harvey Milk Foundation, The Trevor Project, just to name a few….
